MRSA Outbreak Reported In State Prisons

State officials are investigating a MRSA outbreak at two state prisons.There are three confirmed cases involving inmates at the Corrigan Radgowski correctional facility in Uncasville, according to the Correction Officers Union.There are also two confirmed cases at Osborn Correctional Institute in Somers, officials said.

Department of Correction officials told NBC 30 that 34 other inmates at the other state prisons are also being treated for the super bug of Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus.
