DOUGLAS, Ariz. — Six prisoners were airlifted for medical treatment after being injured in fights at the state prison in Douglas.
The injuries occurred Wednesday morning after a few small fights broke out in the prison’s Mohave Unit, said Arizona Department of Corrections spokesman Bill Lamoreaux.
The unit is a 920-bed medium-security facility.
There also are four minimum-security facilities at the Arizona State Prison Complex-Douglas, which the prison’s Web site says have a total of 1,781 beds.
